Frequently Asked Questions.
All those burning questions you have been wondering about the tattoo process (If we have missed anything please email us your questions so we can add them!)
- How do I book? - Ideally we prefer to be contacted through email or messenger as we can share photos and have all details written down which makes life easier during the design process and we can easily look back over the whole conversation. You can also pop into the shop to discuss and book. We prefer not to book over the phone so if you call we will always divert you to email or messenger to discuss. Just because it stops stuff getting interpreted wrong. That said if you want to ‘speak’ to an actual person we are more than happy to have a quick phone chat to ease any discomfort! :)
- Do I need to pay a deposit? - yes we require a non refundable deposit of £50 to secure your appointment. If you need to reschedule and its in plenty of time before the appointment (minimum of 48 hours) we will transfer the deposit to a new date or hold it until you can arrange a new date. If last minute the deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit is needed to rebook. This is to protect our artists as last minute cancellations generally mean we have no time to refill the space.
- Will I see my design prior to my appointment? - Absolutley! Well.. in most circumstances, for example if its just a name or text we will likely wait until the day and go through some font together. Otherwise we will send the design beforehand… sometimes it will be a few days before if we are winning at life, other times it may be the evening before if we are not so winning at life 🫣. In all cases though it does leave enough time to make tweaks and changes where needed. Just make sure you come back to us promptly if changes are needed.
- Can I get a tattoo if I am pregnant or breastfeeding? - That’s a big nope! Definintely not when pregnant. We require you to wait 3 months postpartum until we can tattoo you. If you are breastfeeding at the minute we say no, however I am seeking medical and insurance advice to clarify this to make sure we have the most up to date guidelines.
- Can I get a tattoo after a recent operation? - Anything under 6 months requires a doctor/consultant to provide a note to say we can go ahead.
- Im going on holiday just before or after my tattoo appointment is that ok? - So after is ok, provided you did not get sunburned. We cannot tattoo sunburnt or peeling skin. We recommend your tattoo appointment is at least a month prior to any holidays so that it has time to heal before being in the sun or in pools etc. In all cases we suggest a high factor to cover the tattooed skin to preserve it well, or even better, keeping it covered up.
